On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!

Thanks to Mean Girls (One of my favorite movies of all time), we girls know to sit at the cool table on Wednesdays you MUST wear pink. If not you will face the wrath of Gretchen Wieners (her hair is so big because its full of secrets) who would then proceed to tell you that, “You can’t sit with us”! So, if your closet doesn't have a splash of pink and Damien isn't around to lend you his over-sized pink polo; No worries, I got you!
Can I get a drum roll please?! So, various sources (trend forecasters) are predicting that pink hues (mauve, dust, blush, bubble gum and fuchsia) will be the ideal color for fall/winter 2015/2016! It’s not a rumor since these hues were spotted on various runways during Milan Fashion Week. Designers such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Emerson, Balmain, Gucci and, my hands down favorite Elie Saab will be providing their expensive (yikes) designer wear in a variety of these fabulous pink hues! Short on cash? Don’t worry retailers such as Forever 21, H&M, Charlotte Russe, ASOS, Top Shop and will be pinked out in no time! That is so FETCH (I know, I know according to Regina George fetch is never going to happen); I tried Gretchen!
They say real mean wear pink? I’m not sure if that’s true or not, but don’t worry guys you weren’t left out of this trend as you can see here at Milan Fashion Week.
And simply because I couldn’t help myself!

(Style) Transformation Tuesday: P!nk

Alecia Moore (better known as P!nk) style has been evolving with her music since she steeped into the game. In 2000 she rose to fame as an R&B artist with her album “Can’t Take Me Home”. If you were living and (hopefully) breathing in the early 2000’s you have to remember this album! At this stage in her career, we saw her with pink hair (before it was cool), wild accessories, and wacky outfits.

Although she topped the worst dress list a few times; Well definitely way more than a few times. She did receive a lot of credit for dressing unlike other pop artists at that time such as Britney Spears, Mandy Moore and Christina Aguilera. Pink introduced Punk to Pop; We fashion folks like to call it Punk Pop (I know so creative)!

After her R&B days were over (thank goodness for fashion reasons of course); Pink’s fashion kept on evolving for the better! She ditched her ridiculous outfits and loud hairstyles for a look that would shock not only her fans, but also fashion critics. Just kidding, so sorry guys! She just added more color to her wardrobe, which turned out to be a bad thing.

Finally in 2007, 7 years later (In case you weren’t counting); Pink debut her new look along with a new album. The artist’s newly found look showcased a classy, sophisticated, and elegant side of Pink that we never knew existed. This ladies and gents is what we call a fashion miracle! She finally got it right! I just love happy fashion endings, don’t you?!

Don't be "Clueless" about this trend!

image

I just had a flashback (no its not Friday)! It’s 1995 and I’m attending Beverly Hills High strutting down the hallway wearing a blazer, a short mini skirt, and high knee socks. What movie comes to mind? “As if” you don’t remember, the movie “Clueless” of course! I swear I’ve been seeing Cher’s (Alicia Silverstone) look on the runway, in stores and in the streets as we all prepare for fall. Celebs such as Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, and Katy Perry have been spotted rocking this 90’s inspired look. Sweaters, Boots, Jackets and Scarves are  usually the must haves for fall, but I’m feeling that high knee socks will be added to that list! Thanks to Cher Horowitz of course! Gosh, we would of been so “Clueless” without her!

Apparently this means that high knee socks are a must if you want to look trendy, instead of
looking “clueless” this fall!

Looking to get some high knee socks? Check out these retailers: Forever 21, H&M,
Top Shop, ASOS, American Apparel and more!
